Artist's Description
"After the Snow"This is the same scene/subject as the shot I posted yesterday, but with a dramatically different perspective provided by ultra-wide lens and shifted vantage point. The beautiful oak is located on the intersection of Taylor Lane and Oak Lawn Road, south of Stoughton, and the two geese that were in the pond on prior shot are out walking in the snowy field on this shot (you might have to zoom in, to right of pond). The clouds were just starting to break up and the sun was starting to blast through, so I decided to include it in the scene. Another shot with very different perspective of this same scene/subject is also available - search "slough for two" on my gallery to see it. Image captured 3/7/22 Pentax K-1 and DFA 15-30mm lens at 15mm.
About Peter Herman

Peter Herman was born and raised on a farm in North Dakota. He first became interested in photography during high-school, and after acquiring a Pentax SLR, began taking photos for the school yearbook and developing/printing B&W images in school darkroom. He continued shooting through college, taking portraits, group pictures, weddings, but after beginning his engineering career at Cummins, he let his photography interests go dormant until about 2005 when he acquired his first DSLR and started shooting scenic landscapes from around the US, but concentrating especially on rural areas in ND and WI. Many of his images were encountered while riding motorcycle down random backroads during "golden hour", searching for that magic light...
