"Brinsmade Skyline"
The little town of Brinsmade, ND, (population~35) bracketed by the two derelict elevators on each side of town made a nice subject for this spectacular sunrise on the frosty morning of Nov1. The frost on the surface of recently-harvested soybean field scattered light/color from sunrise, giving a nice glowing effect that highlighted the smooth contours of the field surface. I shot this from the hilltop about 1.4 miles NW of town where my uncle/aunt and many amazing cousins lived and grew up - the view should be very familiar for them, as I remember a big picture window looking out towards Brinsmade from their house. Taken with Pentax K-1 and DFA28-105 lens at 95mm focal length, f8, ISO100, 1/90'th sec.

He continued shooting through college, taking portraits, group pictures, weddings, but after beginning his engineering career at Cummins, he let his photography interests go dormant until about 2005 when he acquired his first DSLR and started shooting scenic landscapes from around the US, but concentrating especially on rural areas in ND and WI. Many of his images were encountered while riding motorcycle down random backroads during "golden hour", searching for that magic light...
