Description
I shot this image of a drift-log alongside county road just of old highway 281 (the road that goes on to Brinsmade, to west). This road was totally underwater a couple years ago, and lake has now dropped about 5', exposing old roads, houses, etc. that had been completely lake-locked. Farmers must be delighted to be able to get to some of that land without 20 mile commutes! The thing that drew me to shoot this was the way the roots of the downed tree seemed to be "reaching" for the setting sun, as if trying to gather some new light and life.
