Description
"Farewell to Neowise"
This image of comet Neowise was created from 35 sequential 20 second exposures, taken over about an hour period. This technique allowed the COLOR of the ion tail to finally show through in its glorious blue. There’s also a subtle green glow in front of coma which is “real”. There's also a distant galaxy (NGC 2841 in Ursa Major) to the right of comet, whose light took about 45 million years to arrive at earth and strike my camera sensor!
Taken 7/19/20, at about 10:30-11:30PM at York Prairie State Natural Area in Wisconsin. Pentax K-1, Rokinon 135mm f2 at f2.4, thirty five 20 sec exposures at ISO1600.
