Description

This is the iconic and oft-photographed Hurricane Lake Lutheran church, in an advanced state of decay, located near Hurricane Lake in Pierce County ND. The sun was setting behind the church, which gave a very nice lighting effect, I thought. I picked up quite a few woodticks standing in the tall grass/brush pile where I shot from, to achieve a foliage-framing effect!

Sadly, this old beauty won't stand much longer. I have several other image options of this church - search for "Hurricane Lake" or similar title to locate them on my page.

Image captured July 6, 2017 with Pentax K-1 and 28-105 lens at 45mm (so a "normal" perspective view, as if standing in the cemetery area).
