Description

This is captured after an an freezing-rain/ice storm which coated EVERYTHING, like a hilly ice-skating rink. Anyway the trees got glazed too, so I took the chance to shoot this pair of oaks near Oregon, WI that I had starred on my Google map "shoot list" for quite a while. I knew the sun would be positioned behind them like I wanted. I literally had to scoot down the road ditch on my butt because the glaze ice was too slippery to maintain upright stance - rather humiliating to do this in full sight of all the cars passing by (busy highway)! I have uploaded 5 shots to this gallery site so be sure to browse my collection before choosing. This particular image, though, is the only one that is a stitched-pano of four vertical format images, each taken with full-frame DSLR and a very sharp 300mm lens, so the available resolution in this image is terrific - suitable for very large format image on metal or acrylic, especially, to showcase the sharpness (click the zoom preview on top of tree to see all the shimmering "diamonds", resolved by this large file).
