On the morning of 6/23/20, I went out to a local Stoughton-area Osprey nest, set up tripod with my longest (aside from a telescope, which actually wouldn't be a bad choice here) 300mm lens coupled with 2X teleconverter and sat patiently and waited for the parent(s) to show up with lunch. Finally they did, and I was lucky enough to get this shot. It isn't quite what I had envisioned (that being the Osprey zooming in to actual nest with the fish), but I liked the humor of this one, with the mother (father?) in nest with fledgling impatiently looking for lunch. Followers on my FaceBook page believe the fish to be a Koi, likely plucked from a decorative yard pond! Pentax K-1 with DA*300mm + 2X teleconverter. 1/500'th at f9.5, ISO400
About Peter Herman

Peter Herman was born and raised on a farm in North Dakota. He first became interested in photography during high-school, and after acquiring a Pentax SLR, began taking photos for the school yearbook and developing/printing B&W images in school darkroom. He continued shooting through college, taking portraits, group pictures, weddings, but after beginning his engineering career at Cummins, he let his photography interests go dormant until about 2005 when he acquired his first DSLR and started shooting scenic landscapes from around the US, but concentrating especially on rural areas in ND and WI. Many of his images were encountered while riding motorcycle down random backroads during "golden hour", searching for that magic light...
