Description
"Last Stand at Roseville Elevator"
Enroute through rural areas of eastern ND, I stopped and shot this elevator that I shot last year also. It was on the Great Northern line, but tracks were pulled up long ago here.
Considering how incredibly strongly these elevators are built (solid wood plank cribbing) It is in advanced state of slow-motion collapse, but still retains a sort of stately beauty on the prairie of Red River Valley. The town of Roseville (south of Mayville) is nowhere to be seen - only other sign is a nearby abandoned one room schoolhouse.
If you zoom way in above/left of structure you can see a flock of birds in flight that likely call this elevator home sweet home.
Image captured 5/2/21 with Pentax K-1 and DA*300mm lens.
