This is a "semi-alignment" between the "Strawberry moon" (so-called because it was supposed to coincide with wild strawberry harvest) and Oregon's Tin-Man water tower that I shot at "nearest alignment" on 6/27/18 while balancing myself and my camera + tripod on a train bridge (yes, it was nerve wracking) to get a view of the tower. I found a better (and safer) spot after I was done shooting, but will have to wait 'til June of next year for another alignment opportunity! As an "added bonus" you can also see Saturn just below and to right of moon.
Image captured 6/27/18 with Pentax K-1 and DA*300mm lens at ISO400, 1/10sec f6.7 (for the water tower exposure). To get decent exposure and focus on both moon and tower, I had to composite two images, but aside from that, as-shot..

He continued shooting through college, taking portraits, group pictures, weddings, but after beginning his engineering career at Cummins, he let his photography interests go dormant until about 2005 when he acquired his first DSLR and started shooting scenic landscapes from around the US, but concentrating especially on rural areas in ND and WI. Many of his images were encountered while riding motorcycle down random backroads during "golden hour", searching for that magic light...
