Artist's Description

"Tripping in the RGB Forest" - HORIZONTAL format (there is a horizontal version available also).
Yes, this rather hallucinogenic abstract (in addition to yesterday's "pianoscape" shots) is a very big departure from my normal "peaceful and serene landscape" images, but sometimes it is fun to color outside the lines... For this creation, I used a recent "looking up in the trees" image (you maybe saw it a few days ago - the final shot in the "Convergence of the Elders" series that you can find on my gallery) as a base and did quite a few digital manipulations on it, including a "swirl" distortion to give a vertigo feel. Then I copied it w/ color shifting operations into the RGB panels and flipped center tile so that its trees "tied up" with neighbor edges.

About Peter Herman

Peter Herman

Peter Herman was born and raised on a farm in North Dakota. He first became interested in photography during high-school, and after acquiring a Pentax SLR, began taking photos for the school yearbook and developing/printing B&W images in school darkroom. He continued shooting through college, taking portraits, group pictures, weddings, but after beginning his engineering career at Cummins, he let his photography interests go dormant until about 2005 when he acquired his first DSLR and started shooting scenic landscapes from around the US, but concentrating especially on rural areas in ND and WI. Many of his images were encountered while riding motorcycle down random backroads during "golden hour", searching for that magic light...
