Here's another image of a spring-fed trout creek in a wildlife area near Stoughton last week, taken after a heavy snowfall. A few other shots are available from same general location (search "Anthony Branch" on my gallery). They all capture the "feel" of that moment fairly well, including the utter silence, aside from babbling brook and birds, and pristine perfection of the snow-frosted scenery. We just received another 8" of snow this weekend, so I may have to get out exploring again today!
Image captured 1/26/21 with Pentax K-1 and DFA15-30mm lens at 15mm. Actually this image is composite from two separate horizontal shots, stitched together vertically into square format composite, so this is a VERY wide angle image (and source file is ~10x higher resolution than this FB image!)...
Peter Herman was born and raised on a farm in North Dakota. He first became interested in photography during high-school, and after acquiring a Pentax SLR, began taking photos for the school yearbook and developing/printing B&W images in school darkroom. He continued shooting through college, taking portraits, group pictures, weddings, but after beginning his engineering career at Cummins, he let his photography interests go dormant until about 2005 when he acquired his first DSLR and started shooting scenic landscapes from around the US, but concentrating especially on rural areas in ND and WI. Many of his images were encountered while riding motorcycle down random backroads during "golden hour", searching for that magic light...
