I love the play of light and colors. Nice image!

Artist's Description

"After the Storm"
I went out driving around south of Stoughton during/after the snowstorm yesterday. I think this image, taken as clouds were starting to break, of snowdrifts forming in the ditch with four stately oaks as backdrop will be my favorite from the shoot, and probably the month. I loved the texture and sculpting of the drifts, and the way they were lit. I'll be will be sharing additional images for quite a while from this productive day of shooting!
I also had the great pleasure of pulling a big GMC SUV out of the ditch with my Jeep! The roads were very very slick, but in locked 4x4, the Jeep was up to the task!
Image captured 12/12/20 with Pentax K-1 and DFA28-105 lens at 28mm.

About Peter Herman

Peter Herman

Peter Herman was born and raised on a farm in North Dakota. He first became interested in photography during high-school, and after acquiring a Pentax SLR, began taking photos for the school yearbook and developing/printing B&W images in school darkroom. He continued shooting through college, taking portraits, group pictures, weddings, but after beginning his engineering career at Cummins, he let his photography interests go dormant until about 2005 when he acquired his first DSLR and started shooting scenic landscapes from around the US, but concentrating especially on rural areas in ND and WI. Many of his images were encountered while riding motorcycle down random backroads during "golden hour", searching for that magic light...
