Artist's Description
I captured this image of our galactic core of Milky Way rising above the lake on Rutland Dunn Townline Road south of Madison, WI. I was using/experimenting with a new/fast lens that lets lots of light in, and was really pleased with this first-ever result. Along with the Milky Way, the fireflies were captured as greenish blips along the treeline (you'll have to click image and zoom in on the "tree" areas to see them. The mosquitos were voracious, but I think this result was worth the effort/pain.. The skyglow is light pollution from Stoughton, the bane of all fellow stargazers' existence... PS- that really bright “star” on right edge is Jupiter
Captured with Pentax K-1 and Rokinon 24mm F1.4 lens at f1.7, 30sec, ISO400

Many of his images were encountered while riding motorcycle down random backroads during "golden hour", searching for that magic light...
