Solberg Homestead
This is a view that homesteader Ole Solberg would have enjoyed at each day's end, back in early 1900’s, over 100 years ago now. Whenever I happen to be driving through the area, I can't resist pointing my lenses at this beautiful and stately old homestead on the Benson County (North Dakota) prairie, homestead of Ole Solberg. The varying seasons and lighting angles yield new image opportunities, without fail. I could fill a coffee table book with images just from this site! The house's days are numbered though, as the concrete foundation on north side has cracked and is rapidly collapsing inward into the basement, leaving a large span unsupported.
