Description
"Summer Storm at the Stensby Farm #1 of 2" - abandoned Benson County ND homestead captured in infrared spectrum
As a young boy in the 70's, I would often awaken on spring mornings to the sound of Maynard Stensby's "hit and miss" tractor engine putt-putting away on the field just south of our house. The farm shown here was his and his wife Catherine's home. Maynard was born in 1918 and passed in 2013. They left the farm home in the late 80's. THe homestead was originally a John Wignes in 1910 and then Blegen in 1929, based upon plat maps. Maynard began farming here in ~1956.
If you search "Stensby" on my facebook photography page, you'll find hundreds of images/posts from this location, which I have been photo-documenting since about 1980. I'll place some links to a few in comments.
