Description
"Well-Ventilated Workshop #2 of 2
The vintage grinding/sharpening stone wheel serves as subject of these two images, found in a long-vacant workshop in Benson County, as seen through a paneless window. That wheel probably sharpened countless mower blades, scythes, hoes, knives, etc over its long life. The ~80 cubbyholes (zoom in!) are still filled with various fasteners and mechanical bric-a-brac last used probably over 50 years ago but still poised and ready for service, despite the building and roof failing all around it! I can easily imagine a farmer in his denim attire and cap puttering around in this old out-building fixing some broken farm machine part. In my mind, he looks very much like my grandpa...
Images captured 10/17/21.
