Description
“Tax Avoidance”
As a way to avoid working on income taxes, I suspended colored flashlights/LEDs from strings attached to my spinning ceiling fan and took long (~1.5 minute) exposures (camera on floor, pointing strait up) of the mesmerizing motion that results! I took dozens of image, of which just a few made it here o my gallery.
One thing I like is that by simply shifting weight positions and initial velocities, each image turns out VERY differently- like fingerprints- I could never recreate one even if I tried. I think it is cool that the motion appears "
chaotic, but it is anything but - it is highly ordered and probably even predictable, similar to a complex multibody gravitational motion problem.
Taken with Pentax K-1, FA20-35mm lens, ISO800, 1.5 minute exposures.
